My husband and I went to dinner with 40 friends. 21 couples got together from our church. We were seated in a SMALL room at the back of the restaurant. Everyone was provided a LIMITED menu and no one was permitted to order from the full menu. My husband and I wanted to order pizza but we couldn't. We ended up ordering Chicken Parmesan. The entree was DELICIOUS. Chicken with marinara sauce and melted cheese. Now that I know how private banquets work, I am changing my rating. My husband and I had never had been to this type of event before. We will DEFINITELY return and have dinner together.

I have been to Sammy's many times and the food is always fresh and delicious. The waitstaff is prompt and the ambiance is nice. Possibly could get overlooked being tucked away in a strip mall, but worth a visit.

I had dinner here with a friend after we were told by Black Rock Bar and Grill that there would be a 90-minute wait. I'm so glad we ate at Sammy's Cucina instead. The food and customer service were good. Sammy's Cucina is tucked away in Woodhaven Commons, a strip mall with Planet Fitness, Target, and Marshalls. It can be easily missed and I would not have considered eating here if not for a Yelp search. We received a complimentary plate of bread and olive oil. The bread was good. I think the olive oil should be put into a rounded bowl and mixed with the added seasonings before it is served. I ordered the Chicken Marsala with a side of garlic mashed potatoes and broccoli. My friend ordered the Bruschetta and a Sub, I forgot what kind of sub. I liked the Chicken Marsala. It was nicely cooked and full of flavor. The Bruschetta had a nice mix of sweet and savory. I didn't try my friend's sub but it looked tasty and largely portioned. Our server, Alexis, was friendly and checked on us throughout our meal to fill our glasses and get me more hot water. Kid-friendly and good for large groups. Lots of families and couples alike were dining there. Best of all there was no wait. I would dine here again on the off chance I happen to be in Woodhaven.
